Our interns commit to a school year providing health education and life skills lessons to up to five classes each. Interns train and prepare for instruction and engaging activities that work best for our students. Our interns are typically full-time college students, some of them work part-time or full-time, some commute for more than 30 miles, and some have additional volunteering or internships that they take on. We have prestigious and self-motivated individuals that enter our internship program who are searching to learn, experience and succeed.

Being that Goodwill of Silicon Valley is the Institute for Career Development in providing work experience and volunteer opportunities for our students, we have also began to focus on the career resources that we can provide for our interns. It is important that our interns leave our internship program with more knowledge and skills from when they began. Therefore, GoodHealth focuses on preparing interns for their careers. Through our professional development, we provide a professional panel in related field, connect interns with alumni, and introduce career building strategies such as resume building and interview preparation.

Interns have continued on to the following education/career paths:

Behavioral Therapy

Nursing

Public Health

Occupational Therapy

Speech Pathology

Administration

Education

Medical School

Dental Hygiene

Pharmacy
